Cormar has since increased turnover from £86 million to £116 million, and LIMA continues to work alongside its team to help achieve a target of 30-40% growth and £150 million turnover by 2020.

Discovering aspirations and challenges
LIMA was the selected IT partner for Cormar thanks to our commitment in achieving growth through technology, coupled with an approach that sees us work alongside businesses to identify and tackle the specific challenges they face.
LIMA embarked on a technology gap analysis at Cormar Carpets to help identify areas we needed to focus on to improve the infrastructure. To achieve this, we spent time with key stakeholders from each part of the business to understand the organisation’s exact infrastructure requirements.
Following completion of the gap analysis, we worked with Cormar’s IT Manager, Steve Haworth, to generate a rolling three-year roadmap covering the areas that required immediate attention, as well as the medium-to-long-term projects where strategic planning was essential.

From our assessment, three key business requirements were identified:

LIMA replaced the company’s legacy perimeter firewall platform with enterprise class firewall and security technologies to protect and secure Cormar’s key IT assets whilst maximising existing HA WAN connectivity.
Through our understanding of Cormar’s data protection strategy, data management lifecycle and the agile needs of the business, LIMA tailored and implemented a class-leading storage and virtualisation platform built on VMware and NetApp technologies.
This provided a platform for strong growth by enabling IT to respond and rapidly provision new business solutions in minutes rather than weeks. It also delivered peace of mind through automated, robust and reliable data protection policies, offering granular data recoveries across any IT service with RPOs as low as 15 minutes and RTO’s reduced from hours to minutes.

For Cormar to achieve its growth targets it needed IT to focus on delivering true business value by providing stable and reliable infrastructure platforms whilst also responding in an agile manner to provide innovative business services.
Cormar leveraged our 24x7 ProActive Managed Service for its storage, virtualisation and network security technologies, allowing IT to switch focus to the business-specific projects that would drive growth.
Our ProActive Managed Service has also resulted in improved workflow and communications, and our collaborative approach allows us to make measured and informed decisions around the necessary changes the business needs to achieve its targets.
