Age UK

LIMA is extensively engaged with Age UK having donated PC’s to their local branch, Critchley House, re-cabling the office and providing training on technology and releasing one of our graphic designers to help to produce a brochure for their annual report. We invited their Salford based spokesperson to speak at our 20th Anniversary dinner, raising £1250 for them on the night

The Next Step Project

LIMA organises an annual Christmas collection to aid the Next Step project, a Salford based charity that supports young people and families leaving care to acquire the skills they need to live independently. LIMA staff purchase and donate toys, essentials and non-perishable goods to support families.

 

Walkden High School Salford

We sponsor Walkden High School’s Year 10 and 11 football and rugby teams, supplying them with strips as well as supporting them by buying a kit for their Spanish tournament at Villarreal.

PAPYRUS

LIMA’s 20th anniversary celebrations raised £1,250 to support PAPYRUS, a national charity that works to prevent suicide in young people. PAPYRUS delivers awareness and prevention training, also providing confidential support and suicide intervention. LIMA will continue to support PAPYRUS in 2018 through fundraising activities.

 

Bridgewater Salford ABC

In addition to sponsoring the club minibus, members of the LIMA team provide volunteer hours to a local boxing club, regularly transporting young members to represent Salford in competitions across the UK.

The David Lewis Centre

LIMA supports the David Lewis Centre, a charity that provides exceptional education, therapy, support and life skill development to individuals with epilepsy, autism and complex learning disabilities. LIMA staff give their time each year to actively fundraise for the David Lewis Centre in a variety of activities such as sponsored zip wire events, skydiving and participating in their 6-a-side football tournament.

Staff sponsored walks

Several LIMA employees from a range of teams took part in sponsored walks across Manchester and Cheshire during 2017. These walks raised funds for the Alzheimer’s Society and Mind - Mental Health. LIMA also matched all funds raised from friends, family and colleagues, doubling everyone’s charitable donation.

I started out as an apprentice infrastructure engineer, but LIMA have supported me as I’ve developed my skill set with courses focused on networking and storage. Now, I spend my days working with enterprise customers, using the Four-Cornered Methodology to create network infrastructures for the likes of Peel Holdings, WM Housing and Cormar Carpets.
 

Our current leadership team comprises 50% promoted staff, for example our Chief Technology Officer started on the Service Desk

LIMA Academy

Our employees benefit from constant investment in learning and development. We are committed to developing enthusiastic achievers with the skills to excel in their role. LIMA develops and promotes the LIMA Academy, an internal Learning Centre with 20 vendors and their accredited courses within. The LIMA Academy forms part of an ongoing appraised, development tool for all staff.

Quality Assured Apprenticeship Scheme

LIMA also proactively recruits via a Quality Assured Apprenticeship Scheme designed to secure and nurture local talent, the scheme allows apprenticeship across seven levels from GCSE standard (Level 1) to MSc degree (Level 7).

Investors in People

LIMA is an Investors in People Gold employer. We are particularly proud of this award since less than 13% of IIP accredited businesses achieve the Gold award.

Level 1: Disability Confident Committed

Demonstrating our commitment to developing HR practices, LIMA has been awarded Level 1: Disability Confident Committed status by the Department of Work and Pensions, recognising LIMA’s inclusive and accessible practices when it comes to recruitment and the ongoing support provided for our employees.
