Cyber Security Analyst
LIMA has established a security products portfolio to ensure that technology and information security remains at the forefront of our client’s considerations on their IT transformation journey. These products focus on three key areas; Assurance, Assessment and Remediation.
As our Security Analyst, you’ll play a part in ensuring that our customers are secure from emerging threats. This involves interpreting data from different tools to find and mitigate risks and counter an ongoing or potential attack.
You’ll also support our customers with ongoing reporting of what risks they are currently exposed to, provide them with the appropriate security options, and ensure that their incident response policies are documented and up to date
This role would be ideal for someone in a 2nd line infrastructure support role, who has a good grasp or experience of Windows and Linux servers. We are also willing to invest and train someone who has a genuine and demonstrable interest in Cyber Security.
The Role:
- Facilitating vulnerability scans for client solutions
- Installation of Threat Management software
- Offering advice and undertaking patching to remove security weaknesses identified by our consultants
- Peer reviewing change requests to ensure they do not introduce security regressions
- Quality assessing new implementations against established security baselines
- Ongoing identification and tracking of patches released by our partners, eg Microsoft
- Assisting engineers in the investigation of security events and incidents and assisting in the production of security incident reports
Experience Required:
- Experience in a 2nd line support desk role, or similar capacity
- Experience or good understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems
- Confident customer facing and communication skills
- An ability to interpret event viewer logs, or similar
- Sharp attention to detail.
- Willingness to continually develop through learning.
Desirable Skills:
- Awareness of reporting tools such as Microsoft PowerBI
- Experience or exposure to cloud security automation tools
- Experience implementing OS hardening measures such as SELinux and Windows NCSC guidance
- Knowledge of the NIST CVSS scoring system
- Understanding of OWASP Top 10 threats and how to mitigate them
- SC Clearance – LIMA will provide this if you do not come with clearance
