Team LIMA Take On Tough Mudder

Fourteen ambitious LIMA employees, from across the company, are preparing themselves to take on the gruelling Tough Mudder Challenge for charity. Tackling either the five or ten mile course, the group will work together to manoeuvre their way through a myriad of obstacles and battle through plenty of mud!

Who will Team LIMA be supporting?

Papyrus-logo2.jpg

Papyrus is a national charity that works tirelessly to prevent suicide in young people, with the aim to end the stigma that surrounds it. Through training, campaigning and confidential support, they provide young people and communities with the tools to be able to recognise and respond to suicidal behaviour.

With a National Helpline, that includes text and email services, mental health professionals are on hand to give help and advice to both vulnerable young people and those concerned about someone. Alongside this, training allows them to raise awareness and understanding of the issue of suicide whilst equipping people with the ability to provide help and support to those that are at risk. Papyrus’ campaigning also allows them to promote further the protection of vulnerable young people, at risk of suicide, by drawing on the experiences of both their members and those that have utilised the service.

By providing a range of services to older people, Age UK intend to represent all those that have reached later life both locally and nationally. The charity touch upon many aspects of everyday life including health care and wellbeing, as well as offering information and advice on a range of topics.

Age UK offer befriending services as a way to help tackle loneliness in older people, matching them with volunteers who have similar interests and organising weekly meet ups/phone calls. It is one of the issues for which Age UK actively campaign to raise awareness, alongside social care and financial matters. They also carry this mandate around the world, with Age International who work in some of the world’s poorest countries to help improve health, reduce poverty and respond to emergencies.
