Senior Infrastructure Engineer- Flexpod

LIMA are recruiting for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, with specialist skills in Flexpod solutions, to join our growing Tech team in Media City, Salford.

As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, designing and deployment of IT Solutions that will improve our customers business.

LIMA is an IT Solutions MSP, so you’ll be involved in a range of projects, delivering small and simple solutions, and the large and complex ones too. As part of the architecture review board, you will have the commercial awareness and confidence to design technical documentation and have the ability to translate technical solutions back to the customer.

Reporting into the Infrastructure Team Lead, you will work closely with and support our Sales, Project Management and Presales team, by creating bills of materials, produce low-level solution designs, present effort estimates and ensure we’re on-track to deliver successfully.

This is an ideal role for a 3^rd Line Engineer with design experience, who is looking to be more commercially driven and customer facing.  

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

You will undertake a wide range of duties including but not limited to:

• Planning, designing and deploying IT Solutions for LIMA customers
• Create low-level designs and implement solutions designed by our Pre-Sales Team
• Create high-quality technical system documentation
• Collaborate with Sales, Presales and Project Management teams
• Provide on-site management of Field Engineers for larger projects
• Provide hand-over of systems from Solutions to Service on completion of projects
• Work within LIMA’s SLA and KPI parameters
• Act as a guru and centre of excellence for other members of the team
• Be a part of the On-Call rota, providing secondary support if escalation is needed
• Support the Service Desk when required
• Take part in regular training and keep qualifications up to date.

Essential Skills Required:

• Solid experience in LLD and Installation of Flexpod Solutions inc:
  • NetApp
  • Cisco UCS B-Series
  • Cisco Nexus
• Detailed knowledge of Storage Tech:
  • SAN
    • FC
    • iSCSI
    • FCoE
  • NAS
    • CIFS
    • NFS
• Experience with Veeam Backup and Recovery, or similar Enterprise Backup Solution
• Demonstrable experience of working on a range of project sizes from small one-day jobs to large multi-week solutions
• Confidence in creating System Documentation
• Commercial Awareness
• Ability to self-start and manage own time

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with VMWare vSphere.
• Exposure to enterprise SAN Solutions such as:
  • Dell/EMC
  • HPE
  • Etc
• NetApp Management Software.
  • SnapCenter
  • OnCommand Unified Manager
