Senior Modern Workplace Engineer
LIMA are recruiting for a Senior Modern Workplace Engineer, to join our growing Tech team in Media City, Salford.
As a Modern Workplace Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, designing and deployment of IT Solutions that will improve our customers business.
LIMA is an IT Solutions MSP, so you’ll be involved in a range of projects, delivering small and simple solutions, and the large and complex ones too. As part of the architecture review board, you will have the commercial awareness and confidence to design technical documentation and have the ability to translate technical solutions back to the customer.
Reporting into the Modern Workplace Team Lead, you will work closely with and support our Sales, Project Management and Presales team, by creating bills of materials, produce low-level solution designs, present effort estimates and ensure we’re on-track to deliver successfully.
This is an ideal role for a 3rd Line Engineer with design experience, who is looking to be more commercially driven and customer facing.
What you will be doing:
- Planning, designing and deploying IT Solutions for LIMA customers
- Create low-level designs and implement solutions designed by our Pre-Sales Team
- Create high-quality technical system documentation
- Collaborate with Sales, Presales and Project Management teams
- Provide on-site management of Field Engineers for larger projects
- Provide hand-over of systems from Solutions to Service on completion of projects
- Work within LIMA’s SLA and KPI parameters
- Act as a guru and centre of excellence for other members of the team
- Be a part of the On-Call rota, providing secondary support if escalation is needed
- Support the Service Desk when required
- Take part in regular training and keep qualifications up to date
Essential Skills:
- Strong MS background with experience in delivering both on-premise deployments and cloud solutions
- Ability to produce a high standard of technical documentation that can be used as a technical implementation document
- Experience in assessing the needs of customers and identifying achievable improvements
- Can provide technical escalation to both Project Delivery Engineers and Service Engineers within the team
- Experienced in driving low-level technical workshops in your field of expertise alongside a Presales Architect or during the Low-Level Design phase of a project
- Will maintain up-to-date technical knowledge and skills of products that align with a Modern Workplace practice
- Own and develop technical improvement strategies within the team
- Familiar working within a Prince2 framework, to ensure projects are delivered to customers on time, on budget and according to specification
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory, DHCP, DNS and Print Management
- Strong knowledge of Exchange on-premise, Exchange Online migrations and Hybrid configuration
- Strong ‘end user’ focus project delivery leveraging technologies such as Endpoint Manager and Azure Virtual Desktops
- Good understanding of Azure Virtual Services relating to VMs, Networking and Security. Elements that would be covered via the AZ-900 and AZ-104 certifications
Desirable Skills:
- Relevant Microsoft Certifications in your field of experience
- Experience in Security, Backup and Automation products related to Microsoft Services
