Senior Network Engineer – Firewall

LIMA are recruiting for a Senior Network Engineer, with specialist skills in Firewall solutions, to join our growing Tech team in Media City, Salford

As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, designing and deployment of IT Solutions that will improve our customers business.

LIMA is an IT Solutions MSP, so you’ll be involved in a range of projects, delivering small and simple solutions, and the large and complex ones too. As part of the architecture review board, you will have the commercial awareness and LIMA is an IT Solutions MSP, so you’ll be involved in a range of projects, delivering small and simple solutions, and the large and complex ones too. As part of the architecture review board, you will have the commercial awareness and confidence to design technical documentation and have the ability to translate technical solutions back to the customer.

Reporting into the Network Team Lead, you will work closely with and support our Sales, Project Management and Presales team, by creating bills of materials, produce low-level solution designs, present effort estimates and ensure we’re on-track to deliver successfully.

This is an ideal role for a 3^rd Line Engineer with design experience, who is looking to be more commercially driven and customer facing.  

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

You will undertake a wide range of duties including but not limited to:

• Planning, designing and deploying IT Solutions for LIMA customers
• Create low-level designs and implement solutions designed by our Pre-Sales Team
• Create high-quality technical system documentation
• Collaborate with Sales, Presales and Project Management teams
• Provide on-site management of Field Engineers for larger projects
• Provide hand-over of systems from Solutions to Service on completion of projects
• Work within LIMA’s SLA and KPI parameters
• Act as a guru and centre of excellence for other members of the team
• Be a part of the On-Call rota, providing secondary support if escalation is needed
• Support the Service Desk when required
• Take part in regular training and keep qualifications up to date

Essential Skills Required:

• Qualification in CCNP or CCNP Security
• Experience in delivering Cisco ASA and firepower firewalls, firewalls and Palo Alto firewalls
• Experience in delivering network solutions based on Cisco Nexus and Catalyst, EIGRP, OSPF and BGP
• Knowledge or experience of Cisco Meraki switches, wireless devices
• Ability to transform high-level requirements into detailed network design documents
• Ability to lead complex migrations from initial planning stages through to completion
• Experience in identifying and delivering continuous improvements 
• Excellent technical and non-technical communication skills

Desirable Skills:

• Technical experience or accreditations in Cisco ISE, Cisco Prime, NSX, ACI, Cisco Wireless Technologies
• Experience in network automation technologies
