Senior Infrastructure Consultant

Role Purpose:

A senior Infrastructure Consultant is a key member of LIMA’s solution delivery function forming part of the wider professional service team.  Reporting to the Principle Infrastructure Consultant, a Senior Infrastructure Consultant is responsible for the delivery of customer technical solutions and has expert implementation and design knowledge in the required technical areas.  Working closely with customers, our presales and project management teams you will be accountable for the technical delivery of solutions that have the potential to transform our customers businesses.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

You will undertake a wide range of duties including but not limited to:

  • With an understanding of the bigger picture, deliver infrastructure technical solutions for our customers according to the agreed specification, budget and time requirements
  • Maintain up to date in-depth knowledge and skills of technologies and products in the area of specialisation
  • Produce high quality Low Level Design and configuration documentation as part of a solutions’ deployment
  • Take part in low level technical workshops in your field of expertise alongside a Presales Architect or during the Low Level Design phase of a project
  • Own and develop continuous improvement activities for your areas of responsibility in order to increase quality, efficiency, proactivity, profitability and capabilities across the Professional Services department
  • Accurate time recording and weekly time sheet submission via LIMA’s ERP system
  • Take ownership of tasks and projects within assigned engagements and escalate issues which may occur where applicable following LIMA’s project escalation procedure
  • Accurate and constructive project updates to the wider project team following LIMA’s procedures
  • Work within a Prince2 delivery framework alongside Project Managers to ensure projects are delivered to customers on time, in budget and according to specification
  • Consistently develop knowledge of current and future products and technologies aligned to LIMA’s technical product and service strategy for the purpose of delivering these to customers
  • Undertake advance technical accreditations in their areas of expertise

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

Essential

  • Up to date technical accreditations or demonstrable experience in designing and delivering infrastructure solutions based on the following technologies:
    • VMware vSAN
    • Veeam
    • NetApp or an equivalent enterprise storage product
    • VMware vSphere
  • Strong experience in identifying and delivering continuous service improvements for your areas of responsibility
  • A good confident communicator at a technical and non-technical level in written and oral forms
  • In-depth knowledge of LIMA’s technical solution portfolio
  • Experience of Prince2 project delivery methodology
  • Ability to work independently and within a wider project team on engagements which require a collaborative effort

Has a real passion for technology and is willing to self-develop and become an SME in their area of speciality

  • Technical accreditations or demonstratable experience in designing and delivering Infrastructure solutions that include the following technologies and accreditations:
    • VMware NSX-V and or T
    • Microsoft Azure
    • VMware Cloud Foundation
    • VMware Cloud Director
    • vRealize Orchestrator (vRO)
    • vRealize Operations (vROPs)
    • vRealize Log Insight (vRLI)
    • vRealize Business (vRB)
    • Cisco UCS
    • Terraform
    • Python

    • VCP6-NV
    • VCAP6-DC – Design
    • VCAP6-DC – Deploy
    • VCAP6-NV – Design
    • VCAP6-NV - Deploy
